Parts from Mac's Auto
Howard's post relating to a valve guide tool got me thinking about other parts in the Mac's catalogue which are applicable to Ford CMPs.
I thought it might be good to have a sort of reference thread here to list some obvious and not so obvious parts in the catalogue. By the way, I have no connection with the seller, just find this sort of thing interesting and helpful. If you find something to add, please post a link and a photograph from their online catalogue. I'll kick it off with these offerings: Here's a rivet set for mounting your black and silver instruction plates on the engine cover if you've removed them for painting. http://macsautoparts.com/images/189/A80100_pJPG.JPG This makes a nice finishing touch, a horn button: http://macsautoparts.com/images/189/11C-3627-A_pJPG.JPG Every Ford CMP needs two of these http://macsautoparts.com/images/189/11A-2454_pJPG.JPG |
Not Just Parts found on Ford CMPs
Hi Guys
Over the years I have found various parts for my Chevy CMPs (all those strange little Ford parts used on CMPs) on the MAC's Antique Auto Parts web site http://macsautoparts.com/ . One of those web sites you want to book mark no matter if you are working on a Ford or Chevy CMP also believe that you will find common Ford Parts for the Carriers as well. I've found them to be a good company to work with and their online catalog is pretty easy to use. Though I do wish they would add dimensions to some of their stuff would make it easier to confirm parts. Cheers Phil |
Their Ford/carrier top mounted coil/condenser is cheap, reliable and a perfect fit.

If you think you are going to need a bunch of stuff from them it is a good idea to get on their e-mail list. They continually notify you of different sales. The current one is "Save 15% on your online order of $199 or more today!"
Cheers, Barry |
They supply all the engine parts including starter and generators ( need to change pullies.) Battery tie down clamps for fords cmps , dash gauges, fuel sending units .just to name a few more parts

Ford Master Cylinder
1 Attachment(s)
I believe this is the correct master cylinder for Ford CMP.
Attachment 45953 http://macsautoparts.com/early-ford-...R3CHL1074997E/ Let me know if this is not the case, please. The cap is not correct, but I have 3 original master cylinders & they all have different caps!!! |
Radiator badge
I think this is also the correct badge for the front of a Ford cab 11/12 CMP, but it should be painted.

Comment on parts seach MAC and other sources
One comment that I would add about searching for parts on MAC and other US based part sources. Don't forget to search out side of the normal production dates.

Dash Gauges fron Macs still available
Anyone know if the four small CMP dash gauges are still available repro from Macs or elsewhere? The latest Macs catalogue/lists only show an oil pressure gauge now. Or a complete rebuild of the whole dash binnacle for a gazillion $$$ (actually about 400 I think!)

CMP Gauges
Hi David,
They are available, new old stock, from our local vintage V8 shop. Around $45NZ each plus shipping. I can get you a firm quote if you are interested. Cheers, Terry |
Quote please
Terry. Yes, please get me a quote for the Ford oil pressure, temperature and ammeter (actually a voltmeter I think). My fuel gauge is OK. My originals are a kind of brown colour - but whatever is available would be OK. You can PM me if you like.

cmp gauges
David, I've just noticed that they have an online catalogue up and running:
http://www.fordv8parts.com/products/catalogue-and-mags They used to be just down the road from me but have now moved 1/2 hr drive away. Happy to help if you choose the ones you want. Terry |
Catalogue
Thanks, Terry. I need to study in detail - one problem is no pictures to show which variety I need since they obviously dont list which ones are suited to CMPs. What I may do is to photograph what I have and ask you to take that in to show for comparison? I'll do that when I next get out to the cottage to check on the truck. Won't be tomorrow as it will be minus 20 something windchill!
Cheers David |
Ford gauges (old design).
