Why does the word "extortion" come to mind?

Kerry works at R&R Services in Kent who are renowned dealers in all thing military. Their prices will be reflected in their need for good profits. So that Kerry can take home some food for his hungry wife and children.

However...

If you had a nice T-16 you were working on....with no dash.....

thats cheap. If I needed it I would buy it in a flash.

M38A1 gas tanks list at over $500 on e bay.

i need a dash for my t16 but i ain't paying £500 for it ! i'm just a poor working lad from manchester with a young family and a big dog to feed so it's a little out of my price range, maybe he'll take pity on me and let me have it cheap :rolleyes
if nothing else the pic gives you all the info you'll need to make another one

they have taken down the ad....sold perhaps ?

horsa 20-01-12 16:02

Probably wasn't a bad price if you needed the dash and all of the gauges, switches and circuit breakers. The Swiss modified the original dash on all of the vehicles they used so the WWII original design is pretty scarce on its own now. Lots of people have an incorrect one in their restoration.

what I find staggering about this one, is that they are 3.5 miles from where I live and very good friends of mine. In fact they helped with some welding on my T16 and knew I needed some parts for my dash panel but never mentioned they had this! I reckon that it may have been out of a very low mileage T16 which they pulled apart to restore and then sold it to a well known collector in the UK as a job lot with some other stuff. I wouldnt mind betting that they suddenly reaslised that it belonged to that Carrier. Anyway, I will soon find out....I shall ask them! Actually all i needed now is the panel lamp on the top.

RichardT10829 20-01-12 16:27

to be fair as mentioned in my initial post i thought the price was not too far off too... the hassle it could save someone is worth currency in itself..... when i was initially looking for a carrier they offered me a very very nice T16 only had 19miles on the clock...fully complete just needed rebuilding £9k.... a bargain saying that Mr Wheatcroft wanted £4.5k for a destroyed range wreck T16 without any tracks or running gear !

andrew honychurch 20-01-12 18:42

well you should have bought that T16! I saw it. The man that sold it desperately wishes he had not let it go. And where did it go? Kevin!

hey man ! what's wrong with buying wrecks

Hi, I had a t16 dash like that one, but without the gauges, which are plentyful at the war and peace show, I swapped it for a pretty perished carrier wheel.

I also supplied the same guy with the armour plate which go's under the axle for £20 and I am still waiting to be paid two years on!. I think the guys name was pete walton.

Pete........any chance you never got the plate?

kevin.
