tiger

Thats just fantastic, better than those T34 based tigers they cobbled together in 'saving private ryan'.

Are they original tiger battle tracks?

kev.

Man thats an awesome replica. You'd have to have a few dollars and time to build that, Most impressive and well built by the looks of things. :thup2: Wouldn't want to be in it when a round was sent my way though.

Bloody hell, makes our projects look pathetic

Jon Skagfeld 24-02-12 13:06

Good grief!...and I thought I was doing well by building the Tamiya 1:16 scale model.

strat1 25-02-12 07:42

They built 2 of these for a film and are now offering one of them for sale around 450,000 Euro, and if you have deep pockets will build for you. New made tracks.

The idler is definatley modified t54-55.

Now that sets the brain going, anything is possible!

Tiger replica

This sure confirms that it is quite feasible to do a replica. On a Tiger I, the toughest thing is the suspension and tracks, but these people did an admirable job of trying to duplicate that. Would be something to do one for the War Museum in Ottawa, but it would have to be dead accurate to be worth doing. I think there is another Tiger I replica in Europe somewhere, made of steel plate also, and fairly accurate, as I saw a video of it on track-link.net site, and I don' t mean the T-34 ones from Kelly' s Heroes. Not much info on that one,but it exists

hey Jon, looking to sell that 1/16 Tiger lol ? Rob

Jon Skagfeld 10-03-12 13:59

Rob: No way...but next time you're over, I'll fire it up and do a demo for you.

Radio controlled, it moves forward/back at various speeds, turns/pivot turns, turret traverses, barrel elevates/depresses, main gun fires with a sound and light flash that will scare the hell out of you when you hear/see it the first time. Co-axial MG fires also. Sound track is from a recording of a running Maybach engine in a Royal Tiger at the museum in Samur.

PS don't forget 26 May for M14 Clinic.

There...I'm finished hi-jacking the thread! :D
