Rusted out hulk found while hiking
Hey guys
A friend of mine was out hiking with his wife and he found a rusted out hulk that he thought might be a military vehicle so he took me to see it. I did not have my phone with me to take pics so they will come later. The truck appears to have a van type body that had double doors and the spare tire goes in a hole in the side of the body in front of the rear left side tire. I am unable to see the cab as it is buried in trees and dirt so identifying it is hard at thim point. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions as to what it might be? I hope to get to it and do a recovery in about a month, if we have snow before I can get it then it will be a spring recovery. Gary |
Wireless box for a 15 cwt if it is a little longer maybe a 30 CWT Don't know about the double doors though...
Some GMC deuce and a half had a similar tire in the wheel well on the side. never leave without your phone.... |

Hey Harry
Thanks, I forgot to mention that there are no windows at all and on the roof closer to the cab there is a round thing that looks like an air conditioning thing, (looks lik eit might spin and remove heat from inside). Gary |

From the description I am going to take a wild guess it is a WC54.

My bet is a Dodge 3/4 ton Ambulance.

These are the last 2 I took, as you can see the cab, if it is there, is buried in the mud from frequent mud slides in the area. One day I will go rescue it.

Finds like this are always exciting - but I wonder if it is worth recovering. Surely there are some useable bits 'n bobs on it, but with so many of these Ambulances still around the Dodge as a whole isn't worth recovering (in my humble opinion). H. |

I always find it More fun to Search ,find and recover rather than the Rebuild
