F15a housebody?

For sOme time now i've been watching this ad on milweb:
http://www.milweb.net/classifieds/la...ad=63529&cat=3
And wondering if this should become
My first CMP....?
But then this question came to mind:
Why isn't anybody else buying this one?
Since i'm not up to speed yet on cmp's my question to
You:
What is "wrong" with this vehicle?
Grt, Markwin

Markwin,

It's a running and driving Chevrolet(!) CMP so there's nothing wrong with that. But if you're looking for an original truck, please bear in mind this one is highly modified and is not representing a type used by military forces.

See this thread for some more background info on this truck.

Regards,
Hanno

Thank you Hanno!
So if originality is not à big issue this could be worth my while?
(must admit i still Dont know what The
Difference between HUP And CMP is ;) )

HUP vs CMP

Hey Markwin

A HUP is a CMP just a version of it. CMP is the make and HUP would be the model, other models would be C or F 15, 15a, 30, 60, etc. The one you are looking at appears to be a c-15 with a Radion/Van body on it. A HUP looks like a Van, there is no wall seperating the Cab from the back.

two letters i guess that's all I can see...P stays the same...hahaha okay my sense of humour. Go for it or someone else will and you can always change the sleeping part of it later..or not. Nice to have a great DRY WARM place to sleep if you ever get in with a military reinactment group where they will have to sleep in tents and you have a ready made camper/ caravan! It seems quite cheaply priced to for it to be a runner!
Good luck

To confuse things further, this is a HUP (note the narrow fenders and horizontal tow shackles on the front bumper). Someone as cut off the rear van body and replaced it with a house type body.

Plus the chassis has been lenghtened and the engine replaced....see the thread I provided a link to in my initial response. I'm not sure one would manage to get it registered in Holland.

For comparison I attached a picture if what this truck would have looked originally.

Markwin, did you check the thread CMPs for sale in Holland? There's a C15 for sale which might suit your needs better.

HTH,
Hanno

thnx for the replies everyone!

Just found out the one in the UK with the house body is sold...
:(
too bad..

Waddinxveen is right around where i live...great advantage...

This may sound silly, but what i dont like about that one is the civil dashboard...
Otherwise the looks are fine....

My budget is limited to +/- 4000 euro's though...
But tips are always welcome!
