Cleaning mildew off canvas

After being in a damp garage my F8 tarp has spots of greenish mildew. Apart from getting the sunshine on it, is there a product that gets mildew off? I dont want to use a chlorine product for fear of bleaching it!

water down the bleach so you can barely smell it spray bottle then rinse of after letting it sit for a short time shouldn't bleach the colour...try a small patch or you might try washing with a good washing powder for clothes then rinse well. the mildew will be on the surface and not right through the fabric. There are products for sports gear that may work as well as the atheletes do not like chlorine next to thier skin for the same reason...? just a suggestion mind you...good luck

Soap, water, a scrub brush and some sunshine.

The trouble with a lot of methods is that the mould you miss is still viable. A mild bleach solution kills it.

I had a similar problem with a vehicle canvas growing mould on the inside. The canvas was old so it wasn't a problem if it stripped the color. I tried bleach and a scrubbing brush. Stopped the mould for a while (it came back a bit) but didn't strip the color. Just try a small ara first.
