Australian Ford/Marmon-Herrington

What trucks were converted for Australian Ford/Marmon-Herrington? Vanderveen wrote about Ford 01T for LP3 (1940 model) and Ford 296T for 6x6 vehicles (1942 model). But if these trucks are made in Canada they had to have a prefix "С" in an index.

39-42 civilian Ford trucks were converted to gun tractors, some to 6x6 breakdown workshop vehicles. as well as others.

It would be desirable to know exact designations of models. It is interesting that the mention about Ford 296T (and the Canadian C296T) is absent in technical literature.

C81T for 1938 4x4
C91T for 1939 4x4
C01T for 1940 4x4
C11T for 1941 4x4

The 6x6 "Breakdown, Aust 3 or 3A" was based on C098T, C198T and C298T with a nominal 158" wheelbase and Mercury 95hp engine. I think your reference to a "C296T" might be a misprint.

Try and obtain a copy of the now out-of-print publication by Mike Cecil "Australian Military Equipment Profiles No1 Artillery equipment". It has a section on the Aust Local Pattern artillery tractors based on the M-H 4x4 and shows the various models.

Tony, Thanks!
My guesses were true!
LP3 and LP3A tractors appeared in 1939?

Unfortunately all designations of the Australian Ford/Marmon-Herrington trucks in "Historic Military Vehicles Directory" book are specified incorrectly.

Tony,

You didn't mention the 21T model (1942 Jailbar F/MH GT), too.

Lot of work went into it, but not much result!
