Unusual....
Where and how where they installed....?
I suspect they may have been modification for Northern driving..... keeping water slush from the engine. The early cab 11 had some vestige of a rubber shield installed to prevent splashing the engine...... keep in mind that ignition systems were not as water proof as today..... Has anyone ever discovered the full rubber system on a cab 11 or cab 12...? as I would love to restore my that way..... Bob |
Hi
They were mounted on the cab framing on each side of the engine under the cab floor, hanging down and "sealing" against the main frame. My truck i an X-water truck. So it could be a water truck issue, but I see no obvious reason for them on a water truck. I have an arctic kit on mine, so that might be it?? But the winter manual says nothing about that though. No I just looked, there has never been anything mount there on this water truck. I think Bob is correct in thinking it might be part of a Arctic kit.
