Carrier brake bisectors, actuators or expanders.

I have been talking to a couple of fellow forum members, who are both looking for the same bits. each of them needs a pair of bisectors, but can get by with just the alloy bodies (in good useable condition, of course).

We have not discussed posting an add on the forum, but as I have a pair of marginal ones, that I need to use, I thought I would test the water.
I believe these were also used in a truck application, in the U.K., pre war. I just haven't narrowed it down to the make and model (which could be another possible source)

Is anybody in the enviable position of having them surplus?

Thanks in advance.

Have a look on some of the Ford vintage sites from a Google Search. They are for the ford 1.5 ton truck brakes as well as the carrier.

I think.... :teach:

Look at Macs -

Not the whole assembly but some brake bits...

Hi Jim, nothing there that I recognise.

Bisectors aka brake expander housing

2 Attachment(s)
Part number gives a good start point: CGB 1206 V
Page 7, Illustration No. 2 in the Canadian Ford FUC-03 parts book. Identical part on all models of Canadian produced Universal Carriers.
As Chilwell lists the part as GB 1206, does that point towards Girling Brake?

The second image is the Girling non-servo brake system as installed on a Jowett.

Michael, I have found number on one that I thought was a Girling commercial part number (Girling 314607)
I have since seen a different kind of expander with the same number. I now believe it to be Mr Girlings patent number.

I have some brake bits that have come off the carrier I am working on making into a monument, so the bits are surplus and for sale to fund the project. Send me a PM if interested.

Hans

PM sent.
Lynn.

looks a lot like the brakes used on the army 3/4t sankey trailer, might be an option if all else fails.
