Dodge WC with Swiss Oerlikon Gun
 

Unfortunately the "Oerlikon Collection" does not have that configuration in the original but "only" all the guns. And I am not aware of any other photo showing this configuration. Was it just some sort of a prototype which was never adopted by the Swiss (or any other) army?

The Austrian Federal Army had Dodges in this configuration. These are mentioned but not illustrated in The Observers Military Vehicles Directory from 1945 by Bart Vanderveen. The gun is referred to as being AA, M58.

I acquired one of these vehicles, minus gun, as part exchange in a deal with Robert Gill of Vienna in 1994. I drove it to England where I left it with a friend to be sold.

The most noticeable modification was the installation of a sheet metal tube under the passenger's seat that projected out into the foot well almost to the toe board. This allowed for the stowage of a spare barrel which was obviously somewhat longer than the cargo bed.

The truck was subsequently sold but I don't know to whom.
