Remnant Found With Numbers

Following up on a lead from Jacque on a Chev, I found the following on its Data Plate
WO 96
Chassis: 3-8443-61305
Eng: 3946357 didn't check if it was original
Order No:SM-E52-448
MFG:29-9-44 AUS
Also it's ARN 142050

I would be interested to know its military history.
It has a very large jib on it with steel plate welded to its chassis.
Second reverse steering wheel as it was used in the steel construction industry by its last owner.
Sadly what is left is very poor and only good for scrap
Cheers Tim

Chev

It was a C60L Truck, 3-ton Garage (Aust).
Interestingly I have a listing for the one three after in serial number although it was built 3 days earlier.

Hi Keith, thanks. I'm hoping I may be able to salvage some small items of it. Sadly the elements and modifications have taken their toll, I can't see it being restored especially given the modifications to the chassis. Though the data plate is there, someone has taken the time to smash all the gauges etc...
What does the term "Garage" mean.
Cheers Tim
