This question may have been asked before on this forum but here goes.

What ever happened to the Wobbies World Bren Gun Carrier?

The photo below was taken in 1980 when I visited the theme park. Unfortunately I did not get to ride the Carrier as the queue was a mile long :whinge

Promotional video showing Carrier.

You beat me to it Robert

I was on the road... yet again.

I think the Wobbies carrier had been re-engined.

Back from the dead.

I visited Wobbies World in 1986 for my best friend's 15th birthday. Among other things, we rode the Carrier, and my young military mind resulted in disappointment, as there were no Bren guns! I seem to recall getting a token, or a medallion to say I'd ridden in it.

Mind you, I was more interested in swinging the tail boom of the Bell 47 helicopter, to see if I could hit the kids who were waiting in the queue! I was a turd of a kid, sometimes!

Around then, I'd started visiting Moorabbin Air Museum, and I'm still involved there, three decades on. At the time, I was unaware that the Vickers Viscount airliner belonged to Moorabbin, but I'd find out when involved in its move back to the museum a decade later.

Good times!

Cheers,
Matt

Wobbies carrier .... reengined with a V8 OHV of some sort and an auto, as rumour would have it. It was located on Springvale Road Nunawading near where I went to secondary school (some years before Wobbies existed, I'm sad to admit!!)
