Formerly of the Intelligence Section...we have our ways :D

Snowtractor 09-06-04 18:07

It used...

...to be a military house right near Wpg Intl Arpt on Ruland St. built in the late 40's or early 50's I believe. The airplanes have to radio our house and get mom to turn off her microwave, when the land of take-off, because they are so low overhead;)

You guys are NUTS! :D :D :D

Sean ... does this man I can't move my microwave in?

Snowtractor 09-06-04 18:27

No problem...

....to have a microwave near the approach and departure paths of the arpt. You'll just have to get approval from Navcan, Transport Canada , Winnipeg Airport Authority, put two red lights on the building, take a Restricted radio License (Aviation) [I can certify you for that I am qualified] know your Radio telephony, install a certified Kollsman altimeter in your house and a generator to operate the radios incase of power outtage. Don't forget that you have to be refresher trained every two years and have your radios and altimeter recertified annually. No problems at all, you should be popping corn in the microwave within two years, tops.

OH NO... you're qualified to CERTIFY me? ...help... I'll get a house with bars? How could I still have my house, my microwave, my popcorn and eat it too if you certify me???:(

Snowtractor 09-06-04 18:41

Certification...

...you were "certifiable" long before I came along. Also I believe that you have been "certified" by others , here, before this.:p At least when certified by me, you get a piece of paper along with it.
Lord help us though, it does give you the permission to "talk" on aviation radios. I can envision overloaded frequencies and planes running in to one another because they can't get on the freq to talk to coordinate passing altitudes....

Your Lucky you can move

I look out the window when I have breakfeast and think wouldnt it be nice to move some where without a minus 6 frost every morning over winter. I look a little further out across the paddock and spy 12 years of collectin green things and realize I dont own a transport company and will have to be content with a little frost.
