Temora- Warbirds Downunder 2013
Temora Aviation Museum is hosting their Warbirds Downunder 2013 on Saturday November 2nd at the Temora aerodrome. http://www.aviationmuseum.com.au/war...ownunder_2013/
We are hoping to have a large attendance of military vehicles. There has been a lot of interest from other clubs including the Victorian Military Vehicle Corps, AMVCS, Australian Military Equipment Collectors, Australian Armoured Vehicle Association, World War 2 Jeeps and independent owners of military vehicles. Peter Harper and the Temora Aviation Museum agree to offer each vehicle two free admissions, this offer only stands for the ex-military vehicles as they are what the Museum feels will add the most value to their day. We need to get an idea of people and vehicle attending. I already have a list of people and vehicles and we need to get this organised probably by the end of September. With camping I will also require details and at this stage I will be camping at the Airport. Camping should be available from Friday to Monday so please be specific with the days you require. Send me an email if you are interested. kveinc@optusnet.com.au or jan.thompson1@optusnet.com.au |

Attending?

Us, and about 5,000 others! Last year was simply AWESOME, and I expect the same this time. |
There should be a good roll up of vehicles. There will be a few from Victoria, a number from the WW2 Jeeps, AMEC and the AMVCS. Not sure of exact numbers as I have tickets for the AMVCS and VMVC.

It had to be in harvest

Temora is smack into harvest and I'll be doing 12 to 15 hour days. We'll be receiving about 12,000 tonnes of Canola at Matong. Hopefully a bit of Malt Barley as well. If it was on just 2 weeks earlier - not a problem. Feel free to drop in Keefy for a cup of tea. We'll check the Tare of the Pajero. |

Five of the Albury Jeeps will be going to Temora, They are tuning a blind eye to my Champ, so I guess that makes it an honoury Jeep for the weekend.
Bit longer than our usual runs, sounds like we will be taking the slow scenic route, staying at Coolamon, where ever that is. Obviously I am not navigating. Forecast at the moment is 28'/29' and some cloud. Hope the Catalina makes it, been my favourite aircraft since I was 10, but only seen a Cat. in the air once. Rich. |
Most of us are camping at the Airfield. Some are arriving Thursday and others on Friday or early Saturday. On Sunday morning we have organised to view Ian Styles vehicle collection at approx. 9am.

Coolamon
That's firmly in HOLGATE territory!

Facilities at the camp area?
Never having been to Temora airport/airfield, what facilities are there at the camping area?
communal BBQ? Power points for mobile phone or toaster? Lighting? Showers/toilets? Any feedback appreciated |
Hi Darren
Because of the Warbirds event and the excess numbers of people attending the camping/van park will be in overflow so access to power may be limited and there may be queues for the facilities. Gary and I are thinking of doing a pub stay en-route and camping only on Saturday night. Diana |
