Guess where when what and who

I'm thinking a certain secretary may have the answer, but I'd also like to hear theories about the apparent impossibility of a FE Holden towing a CMP ambulance!
I took this pic many moons ago, the above-mentioned person is visible.

Maybe the Blitz was pushing the Holden!!!

Pushing

Yes, that's the only way it could happen... well done David.

Max Hedges 09-08-13 03:28

the blitz must have been towed out of the bush as the fe has plenty of grip on the resr tyres
is the about the time the blitz was bought

No, it had been around a long time when this pic was taken. I have some shots of Hugh driving it - he hasn't changed a bit! The little girl has however blossomed into a lovely adult.

Max Hedges 09-08-13 03:48

Keith ... the parents of the little girl done a pretty good job

just about to go to Goulburn and drop off a blitz body to be cleaned up for the 12cab
Max

a stab at it

Where? Victoria...it's up hill and the number plates look funny.
What? Ford broke down... nothing new there.
When? If that little girl is Jan at around age 8 or 9 the photo must have neen taken around 1998 or 1999.
am I close?
Wayne.

Lynn Eades 09-08-13 06:27

Wayne, as the first guess, your the closest so far. :D

Thanks Keith. My MLU spy in the UK sent me the link as I have only just turned the computer on. Feel free to put some more photos up. I will show mum and dad next weekend at Corowa.

The photo is taken at Pont Lonsdale where I grew up and my parents still live. The shop is still there.

My mother may have one or two photos of Keith when he was helping dad.

Holden

Is that Holden tucked away in the depths of the garage now?

It was still there when I was there last :)

Keith Webb 09-08-13 09:19

This one is from the same era, different people including someone closely related to me.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Looks like your on your way to woodstock.

Keith Webb 09-08-13 13:20

Woodstock

Great idea, but Woodstock had already happened. This was in the hills around Warburton, the vehicle a freshly demobbed White Scout Car, ARN 123123, still in deep bronze green. The lad to the right of the blonde girl is my brother Peter. Trevor, Rod and Bert Barker are also in this pic.

Shane 09-08-13 13:40

Ok Keith who is the blonde girl and most important where is the Scout car????

Keith Webb 09-08-13 13:58

No idea who she was but the Scout Car is still in the same family.

David Dunlop 09-08-13 18:35

What's parked beside it?

David

Munga

David: looks like an Auto Union Munga parked beside the Scout Car. A nifty little 2-stroke, 3 cylinder DKW engine powers it along.

Keith Webb 10-08-13 03:57

Munga

Yes it was a Munga, I remember riding in it down a rutted track and being very impressed at how it handled the rough ground.

David Dunlop 10-08-13 06:03

I thought the wheel assay looked familiar but could not place it. The German Army surplussed out quite a few of them in Southern Manitoba about 20 years ago but I have not seen one on or off the road in a long time now.

David

David Dunlop 10-08-13 06:08

By the way, Keith

I was wondering why the push bar attached to the Blitz was so long looking. Was the driver trying to keep the Holden as far in front as possible to help in avoiding any of the parts that fell off of it???

David
