Carrier suspension rods

Gents, Does anyone happen to know if the Canadian universal carrier spring rods special end nuts have the same thread size/type as the T16 suspension rods, 3/4" is the thread size I believe.

Kevin.

Rods

I have some new old stock Australian ones if they are the same on all carriers. Be expensive to ship though!

My guess is that all three are dimensionally the same, and so interchangeable, assuming you have the appropriate nuts for them. I sent a suspension spring to a T 16 owner in the U.K. and it proved to be the same as a MkI U.C. spring.
The Australian rods are the same as the British and Canadian ones.
The difference being the BSW thread on the British and Canadian ones, while the Australian (and I suspect the T16) employs a UNF thread
It has occured to me that I should have said British thread form and American thread form (The Aust. ones might be UNC)

Suspension Rod Thread Size

Hey Lynn, my experience has shown that the English / Canadian Rods are 3/4'' BSF (12TPI) . NZ and I am sure Aussie carriers are 3/4'' UNF ( 16 TPI )
T16 Carriers, never checked one, as you presume UNF ?

Lynn Eades 13-10-13 08:22

Thats fine Andrew, I knew they were British standard. Of course nothing here to check with.
