It seems I left out some important information. The items above are part of a farm clearing sale. The sale commences at 10AM. You need to register and get a bidding number, ID required. No phone or online bids as there is no coverage. GST will be added at the fall of the hammer.
No photos today because I was on the motor bike but a ford blitz grill has appeared and some 30 cal ammunition boxes, made from metal and with a very elaborate sealing mechanism. |

Shane,
Jeeps are not my field of expertise, however: The Jeep shown at post #4 on this thread: http://www.mapleleafup.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=21232 sold on Friday for $5200 according to Darrin Wright, (I thought it was $5500 but he was there..) plus 11%. This had been converted to Right Hand Drive and had a holden motor fitted, was rough but mostly there. These two conversions usually devalue a Jeep considerably (like 50%), the local jeep guys were expecting it to be about $2000 for this reason. The one shown on this thread also looks to be reasonably complete (no back seat in sight), has not had the back cut out, still LH drive, can't see if the rims are combat or not (spare is), so I would not expect it to go for less than 8K. If they start it on the day of the sale it will lift the price considerably. Long way to go and be dissapointed, shame about the lack of phone bidding, but usually you can leave a max bid with the agent. If only you knew someone closer who could bid for you...... Rich. |
1976
I was there at Yaven creek in 1976 scrounging jeep parts .
I bought a 44 GPW in Tumut for $200 .. yes $200 . As we drove through Adelong we spotted a Jeep in a front yard .. it was for sale for $100 .. it was running , it had been a shooting buggy and the body was totally beyond help, but it had all the little goodies on it . Kevin's neighbour down the road had a heap of 42 model Jeep stuff ... sorry but I got there first :thup2: At the time Kevin had a very nice original Humber 1 Tonner like Richard has and a beaut slatt grill Jeep , very straight body , it was unmolested . He also had the most original US Jeep trailer I've ever seen ... looked like it just left the factory . memories .. Mike |
Thanks for the feedback lads very kind of you. I didnt think they sold for that kind of money i would have said $2000 for the one on this thread but what do i know, thats why this forum is great for information. :salute:
