Not sure if this photo made it to the forum yet. Interesting photo, any one have historical comments on it?

Happy new year to all!

Description: The British occupation of Java. An Indian soldier guards a former Japanese army light tank used by Indonesian nationalists until knocked out by British forces during the fighting in Surabaya (Soerabaja).

(Remark: The tank is a modified British Universal Carrier. The caption is misleading. What really is on the picture, is some unusual local conversion of British Universal carrier. Either japans or Indonesian nationalists supplied the vehicle with armoured roof and turret.)

Date: 27 November 1945

It must have got some hot in that contraption.

Efforts were made at plywood enclosures during op Eskimo and carriers were found to overheat in those sub-arctic temps.
