F-134 Engine Paint Colour

Guys,

As we battle the cold of winter, I am filling some spare time by working on overhauling the first of my Hurricane Engines. It was minus 43 the other day not taking into consideration the wind chill here in Timmins last week. A comfortable -15 right now

Does anyone have the colour code for the CDN Willys engines. I have 5 and they are all some light blue colour.

Happy New Year to all

I thought that the engines that were light blue were the ones that came from the overhaul facility in Quebec...?
The 1967 M38A1 I had had one of those engines in it and it was a very light blue to grey.
The engine colour in my 53 Ford Willy's is that same green dark olive and black. To my knowledge with paperwork it has never been out of the truck.
Maybe due to the year?

Here is a photo of my hurricane before I did anything to it and that wasn't much.

Best of luck and spring is right round the corner!

Olive with black trim, OEM as far as I know. Light grey, blue etc was depot rebuild.

Still making progress

Thanks for the feedback guys, Green and black it will be. I spent last night cleaning up many of the parts. The valves need some work so I will see how extensive the job will be. Everything else is going well as it is so Fricking cold out here. Looking forward to Blackfly season. I made contact with the guy who will be sandblasting my tub. I just so happens he has a at least 6 variants of M35's in his compound.

I hear you on the cold part. Overall, this winter has been pretty brutal, with very small windows of normal.

Are his M-35s all American., or does he have some Cdn MLVWs? I ask because I am still on the hunt for some of the uniquely Cdn parts.

M35

Rob,

Correction to my last. After further investigation. The trucks are GMC 2 1/2 tons from the 50's. Sorry about the confusion. I have not seen them yet. The family owns a trailer business here so they are tucked away in the back.

Hope it gets warmer

Anyone know what the cast numbers tell

Good progress on the engine. Stripped down to send to Sudbury for some valve work. Everything else looks really good. Pistons, crank all in good shape. I have to order some rings 0.020 nd a few other parts. Here are some pics of the numbers stamped on the block and head.

What is the serial number on the boss over top of the water pump? You can get a real mixed bag on the Cdn M38A1s, from no numbers to MD numbers, to CJ numbers.

Rob,

I will be back in the shop next week. I will take some more pictures before I ship it off for port and polish work.

F134 Hurricane Engine part suppliers

Any suggestions on F134 Hurricane engine parts suppliers in Canada or in the USA that are reasonable in prices and in shipping costs. I am looking for all of the vent lines. I was able to get some piston rings while I was on holidays in the US. I am trying to avoid some of these crazy shipping and import charges.
