Ford CMP transfer case parts

Hello Folks,

I am looking for the output shaft flange that holds the emergency brake drum in place. The rear tailshaft bolts onto the same part. It's fits onto the shaft in the photo below.
Attachment 64823
Also looking for the whole drive shaft from transfer case to gearbox.

Thank you!

Hi Tony, I have the parts to make up a jack shaft although it would need new uni joints. I have a spare front drive flange and I think it could be used after knocking off the tin grass excluder. Contact me if you have no luck closer to home.

Thanks Robert!

The need to replace uni joints is not a problem. I would be replacing them anyway. Don't think i'll get a better offer any closer for that piece, so I will take your offer. Will send you a PM this evening.

I don't know with any certainty, if the front flange can be made same as brake drum flange. Would want to be sure before ruining a good piece you may find you could use later.

I had a spare flange from rear of gearbox and tried it for suitability, with poor results. Although the spline was identical, the overall thickness of the shaft OD was bigger than the seal opening it would slide into. Also, the taper behind the 4 bolt holes was thicker, and the brake drum wouldn't sit flush. The images I have looked at in the manuals don't show any form of spacer between brake drum and flange, so I guess that part is no good.

Let me look at my front drive flange, to see if I can get confirmation that it will fit. Can't justify buggering you r part needlessly!

Speedie Sleeve

Hi

I have mentioned this before, but will repeat, I've had very good luck using Speedie Sleeves to recondition these yokes.

Also a common leak point on these is actually the splines on the shaft, a little gasket cement on the splines of the yoke seems to help, remember to put the gasket cement on the inside of the splines not on the splines on the shaft. On the yoke the excess is pushed out on the shaft and it is pushed into the gear box.

The U bolts are still common truck size as are the universals.

Cheers Phil
