Twin engine
1 Attachment(s)
This twin engine set up is tucked away at the back of a display area at the Army Tank Museum at Puckapunyal, Victoria, Australia.
It appears to be from an AFV and seems to me to be British in origin. Anyone have any ideas on what it is and what it was fitted to? Cheers Rod |

Rod,
This is a power pack from a Matilda II, they are Leyland engines, models E148 and E149. The AEC engines which were also fitted had a slightly longer stroke of 130 mm. Note that the word before "ENGINE" on the plate has been obliterated, it would no doubt have said LEYLAND. I have said this before that I am of the belief these makers names were removed to hide the manufacturing source of munitions. Richard |
