Carrier rear convoy light

I have been rooting around amongst my sheds and have found this rear diff. light. My universal carrier Mk.2 has the same one there for I surmise that this type of light was used on other Canadian vehicles. John.

It was also still in use in Canada on the 1952 M38CDN's built by Ford of Canada.

Convoy lamps for the Canadian production UC series consisted of an assembly similar to these as shown. The flexible conduit is missing from the installation image. Compare the length of the 100145A lens assembly against the image from John.

The line drawing is taken from FUC-03, with part numbers for both the C01UC and C31UCW series. The C01UC 100145B assembly is fitted to the mounting bracket C01UC 100151. The flexible steel housing fastens to the wiring conduit elbow access.

A similar style headlamp and horn flexible conduit (less the mounting plate) is available from Mac's. Their part number 64-21437, stainless steel, a set of three @ $9.75 USD.

All the M-series convoy lamps that I have ever seen had the short nut with rounded end for the lamp socket. The CMPs had the longer hex type as shown in the photo. And the carriers used a double contact bulb on a socket that had a shell type plug on the end. Brian Asbury has them for sale.

After reading the above posts I had a second look at the lights on my carrier and both the two front ones and the rear diff. light are the short ones as shewn above. I suppose that the one I have is for a wheeled vehicle, it is of no use to me and therefor is up for offers, thanks for all your help, John.
