Lovely image referenced above by Mike.

I see it has just been washed for the photo too.

Hi Guys:

Sorry, Mike, I just realized "my" photo was in one of the "moving" panels to the right of your photo. I had forgotten the source.

I would bet Cliff may have some more Inter Ute photos, he sure has everything else.

After just a glance at my files here is 1 of 5 photos from the AWM of one of these in RAAF service. :)

And at COROWA!!

Mike K 26-07-14 02:21

Ford ?

I think the Corowa pic is of a Ford ute ?

The D series Inters did see a lot of army service early in the war . Some of them were roadster cabs like the ford 1 tonners . I had the chance to buy one years ago, the soft top version

I was too busy looking at the aircraft working out whether it was a Beaufort or Beaufighter! It's a Beaufort by the way...

Mike on looking a bit closer I think you are correct as it has the Ford 'Tear drop' headlight lenses. :)

found this photo of a later model International Ute in the AWM collection.

Caption reads
PORT HEDLAND AREA, WA. 1943-10-01. W15430 LIEUTENANT A.I. HORAN, OFFICER COMMANDING DETACHMENT OF THE 125TH AUSTRALIAN GENERAL TRANSPORT COMPANY BESIDE VEHICLE NO. 44710.

Came across these. Like the balloon tyres.

Hi Nigel:

Great photos and thanks.

I do believe, however, the one on the left is a 1936 Ford, not an Inter.
