Hi Folks,

I expect someone has an answer to this and it has probably been on the site before.

Does anyone know where I can get replacement F 30 felt 4 7/8th ball joint seals in UK ?

many thanks,

Andy

Andy, if this request fails, you could buy the felt and cut them yourself.

Gday Andy

I think Lynn is spot on the mark Andy.

I suspect even back in the day the workshops would have had roles of the square felt you're looking for and cut it to length.

Its what I did for my beast anyway..

Felt vs Leather for Ball Seals

Hi Andy

Felt vs Leather for Ball Seals, years ago when unable to find felt of same density as what was used originally went over to using leather. Back 1978 I got a lifetime supply of thick leather cut to the dimensions of the felt at company that made heavy leather drive belts. (The have long since gone out of business.) But I suspect that the same type of seat leather can be had from saddle and tack makers or even cobblers.

The leather seems to hold up very well seals in the oil and seals out the dirt and water.

Cheers Phil

Andy

You can get felt at various sizes and thicknesses from Hardy and Hanson. They cut to your requirements too.
