Any interest

Hi,
I found these on a recent visit to South America. They have had the front axles removed, but I have located 3 replacements. There are 3 of these tractors. I have located vast amounts of new CMP spares. I am not sure what these are worth. Any interest let me know. Chris |
Wonderful find....
Now for a reality check.....
....are they in England... .................or South America.... Shipping cost..... can they be mailed in a large envelope...? Cheers Bob C PS.... any more pictures???? |

Any interest
Hi Bob,
Shipping is not too bad! I have already shipped some vehicles from this location. I have another 5 vehicles coming shortly. In the same yard as thes 3, there are about 20 F15a but they are in pretty poor condition! The F15s are probably not worth shipping but these gun tractors must be fairly scarce! I have tons of pics, but i seem to be only able to post 1 at a time. Chris |

There are 1000's of parts still packed and marked Ford Canada!
I have a container coming in about 2 weeks. If anybody needs anything specific I will check if it's available. Are these carrier lights? There were about 200 of them!! Chris |
Those headlights are used on the mark 2 carrier, as well as the CMPs. Beside them are a bunch of the grenade bins for the Mark 1 carriers. Underneath the headlights are boxes of clutch covers (pressure plates) for the 38-53 Chevs.
Looks like a fantastic honey-hole. |
Holy toledo!!!!!
You really got something there Chris.
The Gun tractors seem to be Ford from the shock absorber I can see. But what about all those parts. Start cataloguing the parts you have first that should keep you busy for a while and will drive us crazy waiting to see the list. You may be a very busy men!! Cheers Bob C |
A suggestion....
... you might consider getting a repro parts manual, one for Ford and one for Chevrolet, so you can accurately identify the various parts from the box description and parts number.
Good luck. Bob C |
Every once in a while...
...an utterly amazing thread appears here on MLU. This is one.
The FATs are I think the 7B2 type, the very last design. It seems there were quite a few over there. The spares are amazing... I am gobsmacked as I am sure are many others. More pics please!! |
Further to my last post
One thing you could do and it looks like you already have been doing it is to make sure you photograph everything thoroughly as it was when you found it. This makes for a really fascinating story.

Awesome find. As mentioned by Keith, the gun tractor is the late type....very rare about anywhere apart from South America :D. All previous model FATs had the beetle back, this one has the open rear, very much like the late Morris Commercial Gun tractors. Any F60T tractors and trailers? I remember there is thread on MLU with pics of a yard in South America, which I think might be one and the same. I am sure there is an interest in parts from several here in the forum. Please tell me when you have found that box with mirrors! :) I could sure use a set or two. Maybe also headlights, blackout and dash switches if you decide to sell. Alex |
WOW :sheep:
That is bloody fantastic mate. Im after blackout lights also ford switches and other bits if you decide to start selling parts. Keith told me about this thread and hes right its amazing well done. :salute: |

Wow what an amazing story! I look forward to hearing more.
Ferret, you need to catalog this stuff and get a web site together. I am blown away. :drunk: H |
Chris, Can you put me down for some mirrors please?
|
...agreed - carrier mirrors.
|
More pictures please......
...at the riskof salivating allover my keyboard.
May I suggest an unlisted telephone number so you will not be mugged.... Good grief can wait to see more. As anybody got a good full view picture of that Ford FAT 7B2..... do not remember ever seeing one even in the archive files I have. Bob C |
Great find Chris!
I'm in the market for spares, dash switches for example, mirrors, WHY? Thanks, Hanno PS: for those who don't remember - Argentina got a lot of CMP trucks after the war. If you search this forum you will find pictures those late FGT's, both then & now. |

Congratulations
Chris,
What a find!!! Once you are set up and ready to sell some of Ford CMP parts, please let me know. I am looking for Ford switches, gauges, black out shields. The list goes on..... I wish you the best of luck in your endeavour. Peter |
Filled to the rafters.....
Heard the expression but never seen an example until now.
Thanks for the pics Rob.... never seen such a beast before!!! I am more familiar with the cab 13 FAT with the cut off cab and the canvass gasket that joins the rear section. Strange what is still out there.....some USA company just discovered thousands of WW I German helmets in Estonia....... wish they discovered something in Canada to ease the shipping burden. Bob C |
I am sure there will also be those hard to find king pin bearings for which ever model CMP.
|
....ah Yes....
The New Departure 926 in a tin can soaking in oil.

Can somebody post a pic of correct mirrors, so I check we have the correct type. Chris |
