Lucas coil
The kind that have the threads and sockets for the leads as used with the Noise Suppression cables for the Lucas military distributor.
I intend to gut it and use the shell to hide a modern coil. If you have a dead coil, even bashed or rusty, let me know. |

82 people have read my post and no one has a Lucas coil to sell me??? Jim |

Do you have a picture of the housing ? Is this the coil housing with the braided coil wire crimped into the housing W/steel cap to cover the terminals ?

Jim,
Putting a coil inside another casing is likely to cause it to overheat and breakdown, sometimes reliability overrides originality. cheers Richard |
Hi Jim,
Did you find something suitable ? If not, let me know I have a spare one. Cheers, Danny |
Thanks Danny! I have one from ebay coming... Let's see what I end up with, and I may have to check with you.
I can use a dead coil, as I would gut it and wire up a modern one inside, Just have to be aware of the heat issue as Richard warns. Jim |
