Early bedford radio truck
3 Attachment(s)
Hello
Has anyone come across anything like this before? I always thought the MWR's were brought in to cover the loss of the 8cwt trucks pu's etc, but these pictures show an aeroscreen Bedford Mw fitted for radio. The pictures are from the wireless for warriors book. Have any of you chaps into the wireless equipment seen thes pictures before anywhere else? or if there are any more similar? I visitied the imperial war museum last year and didn't see anything like this there. So guess these have come from another archive. I'm also presuming there may be other photo's showing the engine, and other views. The tread on the spare tyre seemd odd to. Attachment 70193 Attachment 70192 Attachment 70191 |

Looks to be a pair of 19 sets , one seems to have the HP unit
You can email the author Lou and request details of those pics, he is a nice chap and he will reply . His web site has his email address I think http://www.wftw.nl/b-one-default.html It could be a ad hoc setup done without official approval I have seen similar setups in Morris CS8's Mike |
to me the spare wheel looks to be to narrow to be a 900x16 tyre ,which is normally fitted on a MW, any thoughts ?

No.19 Sets were presumably not even in production when areoscreen MW's were so probably fitted at a later date.
The Roysl Signals Museum at Blandford is probably the source for these pictures. |
