3.7" pack Howitzer No 2

Well I thought I would throw this one out there, I have been working on my second 3.7 pack howitzer recently and it is starting to get there.
Out of the two I have this was in the worst condition and was a real job getting it apart let alone the restoration process that lie ahead, it is however taking shape and I have a feeling it will end up better than the first.
The Ordnance is live so I am hoping to get it capable of firing blanks not that I ever will !
Another very rare Artillery piece preserved.

I have now restored the slipper and refitted it to the cradle after a day of titivation, a new barrel securing pin has also been made as the original was corroded beyond repair.

Today has been the last major assembly of the Howitzer with the fitting of the Barrel, slipper and the shields with just the Breech block and other smalls to fit tomorrow. The howitzer is fully strippable as it would when in service ,its taken about 6 months to get to this point so it has turned out a very nice rare piece ( which will be for sale ) looking at the next gun to restore now, another 25 pdr !

hi

Hello rob, working on two daimler armoured cars, any idea where we can find 2 pounders?

2 pdr Ordnance is like gold dust to find these days, I have a live 2pdr gun here but it is sort of ear marked towards a trade. An option is to use Bofors barrels which are readily available and have then turned to the 2 pdr barrel profile this way you get a 40mm rifled bore .
