Poll - OMVA Membership Renewals

Currently the OMVA publishes 3 magazine per year with admission to 2 swap meets included in your Membership.

Memberships are driven from your join up date (whenever that is) during the year and lasts for 3 magazines, thusly renewals are due upon receipt of your last, or third magazine.

For the interests of simplicity, consideration is being made to making Membership a yearly driven option, from Jan 01 to Dec 31.
A reminder notice of renewal would go out with the December issue, payable by cheque or money order at the first of the New Year. Alternately, for those who like to pay in person, at the Winter swap in Feb since the first issue is not usually until Mar/Apr.

So the question is, how do you guys want it?

BTW- I would rather post a Poll here but can't figure out how to do it...:(

Chris, you have my vote. I always pay at the Acton show but since I missed going my membership renewal has been completely forgotten. :bang: Getting a reminder at the end of the year and throwing a cheque in the mail would be a lot simpler. Since it has been brought to my attention and I am sure others would like to know, where do we send our dues now?
Cheers,
Barry

Annual Dues: Date of Payment

This year my membership lapsed because I forgot how much it was but the other reality is it got overlooked. Paying at year end will be much easier for all. Proration till year end will be required but from year end all will be on a much easier 1 year renewal term.

Paypal option?

chris vickery 04-04-15 00:17

Scott, Paypal is something I may look at.

Chris, the heading on this thread is renewals. Perhaps a pinned post can be put under the topic heading that has a download of the membership application? The pinned post could be Membership Applications/Renewals? And I would strongly reccomend a paypal option.

Bill
I will get a form posted soon.
We appreciate the Members' patience as we sort things out and get it updated.

Yearly membership from January 1 to December 31 sounds great and Paypal as a payment option makes things that much easier.

Membership process

Yes yearly based on a calendar year and with PayPal for ease of payment.

I too agree with the yearly renewal & the PayPal option. If we were led through the process, there is a way that the member could pick up the PayPal charges rather than the club.

An application form posted here would likely promote membership as well.

Jack, thank you for your input.
We are currently in the process of updating the way Membership will be handled in the near future.
We are exploring some possibilities and will post as soon as it is all sorted out.
Thanks to all for their patience and understanding,
Chris
