Pulled out of an estate sale this weekend...and now the learning curve gets steep...

Less than 1000 miles but that could be when the speedo broke.

I have the user/operator manuals. Need tha "shop" and "parts" manuals, and there is always the question...

What was in the toolbox?

Charlie, I have all the manuals and they are yours for the taking. I don't think I'll own another, six is enough for anyone. I have an interesting tool roll (with tools) that you may want to investigate for your tool box. We can chat about that item!

Our TRWs were issued during a period of "austerity"...all kit was issued MFU (minimum for use). Therefore no tools etc.

However,the tool compartment nicely held a mickey of our choice.

Since there is no "neutral finder" atop the transmission, you'll probably spend a lot of time jiggling the shifter in order to find neutral, because the range between first and neutral is so narrow that foot manipulation is too course.

That said, I have found a few "triumph" marked wrenches at the local milsurp scrapyard. They would have come out of Cdn service.

I guess the easiest way to tell would be to look up the wrenches in the old 1984 CGCM microfiche that I have here. They would at least indicate if the tools were cataloged in this country's supply system.

Charlie, not sure if I have any air filters left but they are actually a civilian part (same as the trophy) and available, the rubber between the carb and filter was a little harder to find as the military bike used a non-adjustable one. There are several varieties of that air filter with different outlet angles so you just have to get the correct one. I believe one of the UK parts houses has them NOS.

The TRW did come with a tool kit. A small canvas roll with a few wrenches is detailed in the pam and parts manual. I have a much more extensive one that I couldn't identify but it was surplused in the London area. A UK friend identified it as an "enhanced" tool kit that was to be given to the NCO in charge of the bikes.

You'll have to come and have a look, bring the bike too. If you have a 6V battery we should be able to get it up and running.

The little angled rubber hose from the carb to aircleaner was hard to find for a while, but are now being made in repro. Ebay has them listed all the time.

We actually found the Vikes air filter in 3 different places around the garage...got 1 on the way to the dumpster....but not the rubber elbow or tool kit.

Here's the new problem...

I'm preparing to change the fluids in the bike, and run across Brit Mil/Air Ministry specs for the lubricants.

Do we have a handy conversion chart for such things as "Oil OMD 60"?

and Jim - our paths will cross, or I will be around someday.
