probably Waiouru as my father took it during his training, circa 1943.
Engineers training....possibly a test after constructing the bridge? Brent NZ |
Nice carrier. Can anyone ID the truck and would the car in the background be military or civilian?

Looks like an "R2/6" inside an oval on the door of the truck, but I can't find my good glass eye at the moment to be certain.

Excellent pics any chance of a higher quality scan?

scans
Hi Dave, private message me your email and I can send you my 700Kb versions.
Unfortunately my scanner only scans at 300 Dpi Glad the images have struck a note with someone. Brent |
T33232 is / was,a Wolseley MkI U.C. from the same batch as P. Ashton's (T33452) and the McDell's (T33286)
By the look of it, NEARLY all the British MkI U.C's came from this batch. All the rest of N.Z's British U.Cs. are in the T80,000 to T85,000 with the Mortar carriers in the lower numbers MkI in the (T80,000+ (Sentinal Wagon)) (MkII 83,600 (Wolseley)) and the Armoured O.Ps.(Ford) being at the top end of the range (mine, T84991) I have not kept up my list but have only one MkI* (Canadian U.C.) at T53654. (there are others) |
another one
I have the Instruction Book for a UC1* with T53598 pencilled in on the title page.

T-33232 or T-33732
Brent -
Do like the pics of the Carrier, with both its T Number and its NZ VRN. Ref the first, can you confirm 33232 as Lynn sees it...I make it as poss 33732. Roddy de Normann |
T number
sorry Roddy I can't be definitive.
T3373 2 or 7 the carrier has been playing in the mud but I would hazard a guess the last digit is a 7. I need a higher res scanner. Brent |
