Internet filters.
 

Mike's thread on internet accuracy reminded me of another pet hate of mine. Internet filters sometimes, at work, when I need a break from concentrating on medical policy I'll make a cupper and open something unrelated, like MLU. I can read the Sergeants Mess but as soon as I click on the Armour Forum or the Gun Park the site is blocked and I get the warning page.

The same thing happens when midwives try to look up a site that relates to breasts or the HIV ward staff try to look up gay community.

When they first installed the filter the admin information described the filter as originating from the White House. (thanks POTUS for a country that advocates freedom of speech and freedom of the press, that they should develop censorship filter. BTW It was G. Dubilya at the time)
