Rescue
Hi Gordon
I think what you need is a lot of hope for this jeep. I also rescued a m38 1950, and I thought it was in poor condition but it is a gem compared to yours. Good luck Gilles Chartrand |
Thanks to Gordon it looks like my Canadian MB project is off and Running.
WoooHoooo!!!😀 |
WoooHooo !!
Glad you feel that happy Jason. At least there won't be any hesitation as to which body panels too patch or replace.

Original data tags are almost always missing, particularly the one with the date of delivery. I'd bet someone would pay several hundred dollars for those alone if you advertised them on the G503 jeep forum.

True enough David!
I have been hoping for many years to build a 505 contract jeep and Gordon's has provided many of the key parts that I desperately needed including the identity! Gordon and I had a good chat about it tonight and have come to an agreement that will see the entire thing, including the remains of the rear body, come to me for rebuild! I am really happy to have the opportunity to bring a Canadian contract MB back to life and can't wait to go pick it up! If anyone else has parts they are willing to sell PM me! It looks like I will be needing a few lol! |
There were were rear body bits???
Damn!! |
Happy to see this Canadian jeep will be rebuilt, rather than it being pilferaged for its identity :thup2:

That was my motivation, find a good home for the jeep. Avarice is killing the hobby. Charlie There was a body with the jeep, although you might not recognize it as one. Gilles I guess there is a White Knight for every lost cause and this jeep has Jason Ginn taking it on. Hope springs eternal. |
Gord - Just wish I'd have been paying more attention.
Tell me about the next one - OK? |
Cdn 505 info
Hello
I took a look at my data base and nothing popped up. The nearest vehicles on each side of it stayed here in Canada. Based on not having the left side of the dash modified for the axle/brake light toggle switches and info plate, I would say that this vehicle served only within Canada. Should be an interesting project. Eric |
