The war diary from the XII Manitoba Dragoons have been digitized and is available online on the Heritage Canadiana website.

What can be found:

- The XIIMD war diary from July 1941 to December 1945.
- Routine orders and Regimental orders.
- Organisation diagram from the XIIMD.
- Weekly "Field return list of officers" (list with officers attached to the regiment).
- Copies of the "Staghound Magazine”.
- Correspondence with the "Ladies Auxilliary" .
- Copies of the “Buffalo Post".
- Techical reports on equipment.
- Post war correspondence with city councils about organisation of celebrations.
- Casualty lists.
- Repatriation program.
- Operation "Eclipse" , the occupation of Germany.
- "Stray items" like the menu cards and invitations for dance evenings.

In general, the documents are timely sorted but occasionally there are exceptions.
On reel 12717 there is also information on the 16/22 Saskatchewan Horse.
