carrier radiator cap needed
Someone nicked the cap from the radiator before I bought it. Anyone have a spare to sell?

Hi Jim, I advertised for one, or the bellows assy. from one, some time back, and received a nil response. It might be hard to find. Good luck with your search!

Probably why some desperate carrier restorer nicked the one off this carrier when it was on view for the auction.
(if anyone reading this was the culprit, Karma will get you!! Years back, I had a 68 Triumph Spitfire. Came out one day to find the bonnet up and the lid to my brake master cylinder fluid tank stolen. When I called around to price a replacement, I saw why some one stole just the lid. In 1981, the tank cap would cost me almost 300.00 because I could not buy just the cap... I had to buy a complete master cylinder. I managed to find one in a junk yard.... |
Jim if your efforts fail to turn up a result, there is a guy(on the Ford barn forum) who makes and sells a pressure release valve that connects to the overflow pipe (which is what the Australian carriers have) If I recall it runs at 3.5 lb which is about right for a wartime radiator.

Carrier radiator cap
spreadin the word to see if anyone had come across one since my last try...
Looking for the whole part that screws into the carrier radiator top tank. Carrier I bought had the top "nicked" when it was open for inspection at the auction when the fellow I bought it from won the bid. So .... before I have a shop cut the neck off to fit a commercial rad top, I would really, really, like to put the right one back on. Did anyone come across one to sell/trade over the summer? Cheers, Jim |
