Bearings for LP2A hubs.
Hi, I have taken my brake drums to the brake shop to get machined up. They rang today to tell me the inner bearings and the seals are shot. Does any one know where I can source some new ones? Thanks in advance, Regards, Jim.

Jim, try Nigel Ward in Brisbane for the seals (and maybe the brgs)
Search his posts on here and send him an email via the forum. |
Jim, AJ's in Waihe should have them, bearings are common enough at any bearing shop.

Jim, the bearing numbers cross over as follows;
Ford BB 4222 is Timken 3920 Ford BB 4221B is Timken 3984 Those are the inner hub bearing. and the diff side bearing. The outer hub bearings are: Ford BB1240A is Timken 462 BB1239A is Timken 453X The inner hub seal is a BB1175C Timken make these under part number 5751S (it appears to be National 5751) War time Chev no. is GM 1798517 (they fit many of the F15, C15 and larger CMP trucks) If no joy with Ajays, or Nigel, Then try the Chap in Hervey Bay, Australia. (Sorry, I have forgotten his name) If you want to go further, Macs Auto in the USA. There are many options. If you are in no hurry, it might work out cheaper to import the whole lot. I just searched a ford bearing and pulled this from a web site "MIBearingsLLC" |
I recollect posting on this subject before, all those bearing are / were used in Massey Ferguson tractors, chiefly the grey TE-20, 35, 135, etc. and I would have no doubt that a bearing supplier in NZ would have stock. Of the top of my head, I think they were used in diff and rear wheel bearings. Thinking on, the Ford Ferguson 9N would have used these bearings and the sizes continued in use right through in to the 60's.
