Rubber bushings and grommets on CMP
Hey all
Just wondering if anyone has a source for the rubber bushings/grommets used on the Chevy cab13 CMP. I'm after a replacement for the large bushing inthe steering column dash bracket. The original one I have is falling apart. I'm also after a couple of the grommets used on the frame where the fuel line passes through. |
My first stop would be....
Brian A. who may have some..... in later production when rubber was rationed felt gromlets where used.
I have given up looking, except for a universal various assortments from Princess, and I am using a section of fuel rubber line cut lenght wise, wrapped around the line where is goes through the frame and tied them in place with tape and/or mini black tie wraps. Same thing for the wiring, whenever I suspect that it will be rubbing on sharp edges. Cheers |
Possible source
Hi Jordan
Possible source http://www.oldchevytrucks.com/cart/p...62&i=9653||||| Or https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/dept/D...Insulator.html Pretty sure that it is same as civilian chev of the period. Cheers Phil |
I suspect Steele Rubber Products may be the source of rubber parts sold by many of the usual suspects
Parts that might suit Chevrolet CMP: http://www.steelerubber.com/steering...ion-60-0012-36 http://www.steelerubber.com/firewall-grommet-60-0010-45 http://www.steelerubber.com/clutch-p...per-60-0355-24 http://www.steelerubber.com/brake-an...per-60-0104-24 |
Thanks all
I measured my original steering column bushing and it matches the larger one offered by the two sites Phil linked. Grant. Wow that company sure has a selection of moulded rubber parts. The prices are significantly higher the the other ones. |
