The inners

look like the storage spot for the antenna. The flexible 3 piece deal.

Agree with Snowtractor, believe one is for antennae mount and the other for the crank.

Crank

Crank on mine fits on top of the rear deck against the back of the armour , there is a purpose made fitting for it.

mountings

No not the ariel mount point, and the crank handle is mounted on the rear.
This looks like they should take Two poles laying horizontal across the carrier:confused:

I'm Back!!

Hi Barry
The two inner brackets are for holding the aerial "F" sections for the 19 set in their canvas aerial bag.

Any real photos of the others would help if you have them.

Originally the aerials were stowed in these canvas bags, probably a left over from the MkI stowage. This changed and they were then stowed in the metal tubes fixed along the top of the bulkhead, see stowage diagrams.

The outer two brackets I understand were for storing the cammo net "spider" but as usually happens carriers were not issued with it. It was a sprung web umbrella type of arrangement made up of thin poles.

Hope this helps

Possible Picture

I may have found a possible picture the other day while looking through one of my books.

However to me the clips look more like ones for rifles but there does apear to be an ariel web bag being held in them. ANd the carrier looks more like a Mk 1 version and not the Mk 2 "Welsh Guard"

The photo was taken from "Album Memorial, Battle of Normandy" by Editions Hemidal. On page 408.

Sincerely
Jordan
