Broken CMP Transmission piece.......
Greetings All,
One of our museum's (Ashton Armoury Museum, Victoria, BC) CMP vehicles is out of service with a faulty transmission. We have a 1944 Chev CMP 15 Cwt Truck has a broken shift fork, for shifting between 3rd and 4th gears. Does anyone know of a source for same? This piece was in use in Chev 1-Ton transmissions from 1936-1956. For Harry Moon -
Harry could you please contact me by e-mail or private message regarding your reply to my post a few days ago? Cheers, Chris Preston, Victoria, BC |
Over on HVMF I read that Chris is now contemplating getting the part he needs from the UK.
Now, surely this part can be sourced in Canada?!?! So dear friends in Canada: who can help? |
Chevy part number is 590514. Listings show the part as being relevant to 1938 to 1947 transmissions. I'm not a chevy guy so who knows?
A quick google search turns up new old stock examples available for reasonable prices: ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NOS-1938-47-...RWZgrp&vxp=mtr Auto parts website: http://www.autopartsobsolete.com/193...gm-590514.html |
I've got it
And he will get it soon

Great job Canada !
