Unfortunately i have no service manual, operator manual and parts manual. Here someone has information that will be welcome . Grieve for my English a little break .

The C8 will be it's combined bridge class. That means the fully loaded LSVW with the fully loaded 3/4 ton trailer (later replaced by the 750kg Canadian trailer) will weigh in at less than 8 tons, so as long as the bridge it is going to cross is rated 8 or higher you will be OK to cross.

Nice Thanks a lot Rob!!

I referred to the wrong symbol before. I was talking about the one on the right corner of the hood, which is the bridge class as I described. For some reason the photo did not show up showing the tac sign on the left of the hood. That is the sign for tactical helicopter. The NATO sign is actually for tactical aviation, but in Canada that pretty much means the tac-hel guys.

It is interesting to see the differences in the tac markings over the years.

Somewhere I have a picture of what looks more like a figure eight on its side as the helicopter folks markings.

Maybe this winter I will get to that box and scan it

I have a Canadian manual here somewhere that covers it, but if one simply googles " NATO Symbols" and looks at images, there are plenty of pages on them. The one on the LSVW is correct although there are plenty of other symbols that denote other aviation units differentiating their roles.

That LSVW looks to be in decent shape! Luckily the Tac-Hel folks didn't usually abuse their vehicle like most other field units did. I'd say you got a good one to start your project on.

Oui! Les bleus sont gâtés par rapport à l'armée, et ils sont plus prudents avec leur équipement.

I find it very warming to see a civvy forklift in the corner of your shop. I am years behind you but have already an agreement about an electric forklift at my neighbours property.

Great progress

Here are a few more of the re fueler.

Frank v R 09-03-16 22:02

knowing where that refueler is sitting I am sure it will sit there forever, on the LSVW you know that the brake squeak is a factory installed option,

Only a factory option on the Canadian produced Ivecos. I saw hundreds of Italian ones come through our camp in Bosnia and none of them had the brake squeal, caught fire, or cracked their transmission adapter plates.

Peter Phillips 24-03-16 01:34

That's good. maybe it would be cheaper to have yours rebuilt? I wonder when the parts will start to be sold off. Know anyone in the Forces that's a mechanic :thup2:

Hello Dave,

Interesting thread. Could you please be so kind to attach your images to your postings, rather than inserting links? One day, sooner that later the links wil disappear.

Please see Posting Images for more information on how to attach pictures to your postings.

Thanks in advance!

Hanno

i have plated my truck in quebec province i give the step for it!

1- prepare, clean the truck
2- put it on a float and send the truck in a inspection acredited garage for the heavy truck ( its not a inspection for the car)
3- this kind of truck need a annualy inspection beacause the load
4- normaly a L plate licence is needed arround (1200$/year so say at the SAAQ its a little truck for pleasure) the truck lsvw is not in the saaq register and finally is normal plate like a car and the cost is 438$for the liscence

davestlaurent 11-04-16 17:11

i would like to put a video to explain how to ajust the brake for no sqeeling. how to do it?
