jeep mb
I just finished a restoration on my 1945 and would like to put a pedestal mount on it. I am a tight wad and don't want to spend the huge dollars that they want for them in the states. I am wandering if anyone has made one themselves an have the blue prints for it. Even if I could get diameter, over all length of pedestal, length of support arms etc.

The pedestal mount always seemed like an American thing to me. By that I mean, the Canadians in the pictures I remembered weren't so well equipped that there were excess Browning MGs for every second Jeep.
However, one of the Jeepers in Ottawa has just such a pedestal mount in his 1/4 ton because it is the only roll protection available when Jeff and the others in his household go for a ride. |
Try sending a pm to oldlithgow. I think one of his friends in Cold Lake has an MG mount in an M38A1 (Im assuming it would be close to the same). He may be able to get you in contact with the right guy.

Hi Larry
I made one up from some pipe and few bits and pieces of metal and I don't think it cost me $20 to make. The photo shows it mounted on my Jeep and it work out fine and no one complained it wasn't the real thing. :thup2: Cheers Tony :no4: |
I had hear that some of them mounted the bren on the pedestal, it may have been the brits. It looks cool at car shoows

Save yourself the trouble, fold the windshield down, lay a couple sandbags across the hood and set your Bren in place.
Lots of pics with Jeeps in service setup like this, either a Bren or a Lewis gun. |
