What did you get? The grinning crew member? The AVRO Anson? Or, the gantry truck?

Haven't seen a C60X in that configuration before... Wonder whether that's in Lethbridge.

The rig is definitely a Holmes twin boom wrecker but with unusually long booms.
It would be quite interesting to know the history of the vehicle. The RAAF sure used an odd range of equipment.

These were with it. No CMPs but still interesting.

The photo of B24, B17 suggests CFB Rockliffe (Ottawa) by the mix of types with hangar at base of hill and buildings at the top of the hill. No guarantee though.

Dave I reckon that's RCAF rather than RAAF.

Oops, got the idea that the picture was from you Keith then got so focused on looking at the truck and the unusual situation - why is the aircraft sitting on jacks with the landing gear up and lifting cables attached? It doesn't appear to be a crash site, more of a maintenance setting, there appears to be a propellor hoist on the far side. Perhaps somebody inadvertently retracted the gear (maybe the fellow with the grin on his face) and it has been picked up by the crane? Could explain the propellor removal also.

Yep, that's an RCAF Anson MkV, with the Canadian-only moulded plywood fuselage. They were slightly less cold and uncomfortable to be aboard during the Canadian winters than the earlier fabric-sided Ansons!

Interesting goings-on there.

I think some of the Cessna 190s around today have former Anson Jacobs engines...
