Rear-View Mirrors for CMP vehicles

'Afternoon All,

Would anyone know of a source for stock rear-view mirrors for CMP's? Our Museum has three (operational) CMP's but there's only one stock rea-view mirror between the three of them.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here's a link to our Museum:

Cheers,

Original CMP mirrors

Hi Chris,

Chris Camps in the UK had some NOS Argentine army ones back in 2015. think they all sold out but he may have gotten in more stock. He is on MLU.

Alternatively MG TA-C mirrors are the same but chrome plated. They were a standard Lucas design used on many British vehicles pre and post war.

I had two replica MG mirrors that I bought from Holden Vintage and Classic in the UK. I later got the originals from Chris Camps and they are 99.99% identical.

Hope this may help.

Cheers,

If it I simply drivability get some round M-series mirrors- way cheaper. If it is originality, they are available here on MLU through one of the fellows who gets them from Argentina.

Dirk Leegwater at LWD parts has the mirrors for 75 Euro each. http://www.lwdparts.com/
It might seem pricey, but you will pay more for a mirror for a POS Honda accord.

John Deere sells mirrors that are very close to the army ones I bought some original ones from Argentina a few years ago for the carriers are the truck ones the same size?

Truck mirror and CMP mirror are the same. The only minor variation can be the inclusion of the clamp on the mounting stud, which will be needed or redundant depending on application.

Do you have a photo of the John Deer mirror.

I think I may have posted this picture with dimensions in the C60 signals van thread. The JD mirror is slightly larger and also convex shape.

Thanks for the measurements. Good to hear aren't being idle.

Those little clamps are handy flag holders.

Gord,

Is this the John Deere mirror you are referring to?

"Spare part AT186760 Rear View Mirror (John Deere)"

Thanks,

The John Deere mirror I have has a different part number than AT186760 but is the same style. I checked the JD parts site and there are different numbers for different year models. That's how companies keep their parts inventory simple and streamlined.
The mirror I have is for interior mounting it measures 3 1/2" ( 9cm) X 7 1/2" (19cm ) and is convex similar to the original with a rear post mount. The second mirror you have listed appears to be a flat one and I expect it is for exterior use.
The JD mirror is larger than the original mirror and gives a better view, especially on the van bodied C60 right hand drive truck in Canada.
