M38CDN and GPW contract/unit info wanted
 

I am hoping someone here can help me with a little history on my two jeeps.
Unfortunately the data plates are missing . I would like to find out any history .

I had talked to a previous owner who said the Ford serial F-100193 came from paperwork. The original data plates were missing. So unless the original plates show up then you won't be able to determine the exact delivered date. However similar serial numbers cluster around late March 1952 for "delivered date". Since it is a very early M38CDN then there will not be a CFR number stamped on the top of the left front frame; so look carefully for old stencilling of the CFR number (52-3XXXX format). There is no direct correlation between the Ford serial number and the CFR number.
