Sexton wireless canvas
 

I am now making up the canvas strips and curtain for the wireless box. Does any one have a good photo or sketch of the bottom strip, part # B-5781. I have good samples of the right and left strips as well as a good portion of the curtain. I just need a good idea of what the bottom strip looked like.

I had no idea there was a bottom strip. The cage has some small threaded holes that I thought snaps were mounted in. I put snaps there, and mating snaps on the canvas flap. I have few pictures of that area. Jesse.

Hello Jesse,

The bottom of the "screen" has three threaded holes and two through holes that a plate attaches to that sandwiches the bottom canvas strip in. I do not have enough of the bottom strip or curtain to tell what centres the snaps were on or whether it was the male or female snap in the bottom strip.

On a related subject, what goes under the radio compartment. Some kind of ration container? There is some strange hardware deep inside there.

The stowage diagram states "Boxes, ration, No. 3. Quantity 4. Under wireless compartment".

Now that's something else I have to find!
