Calibre rules for artillery import in Canada

Trying unsuccessfully to find the regulation that states the maximum cartridge / calibre covered by the Firearms Act in Canada. Is it .50 calibre or larger? Something tells me that small arms are controlled, but larger wheeled and otherwise awkward pieces are not.

A fellow on another forum is asking about having to limit or neuter some 20mm Flak gun magazines.

There is no maximum calibre given.. There was talk about limiting it to something around 14.5mm, but the change was not a priority.

Despite the firearms centers claim that any barrelled weapon capable of discharging a projectile which can cause serious bodily harm falls under the control of the firearms act, there are indicators within the act that is was never written towards the large caliber stuff.

All that said, if the 20mm magazines are for an automatic version of gun, then the magazines may well fall under a special section of customs tarrif dealing with the import of parts and accessories exclusively for prohibited weapons.
