Liquid Electrical Tape
I know over on another forum there has been some chatter on this kind of product.
I found this on a quick web search. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Attwood-4...Black/16351039 Does anyone here in Canada or in the USA use it and what experiences have you had please? |
Liquid Tape
I have a can in the locker and use it once in awhile to touch up crimp on connectors that are not the heat shrink type. My preference is either Ancor or Vertex terminals with the adhesive heat shrink for new work. The liquid tape is useful for touching up nicks in exiting wiring. On my last major boat rewiring project, I coated all the terminal strip connections once everything was finished to keep moisture out. Jury is still out on the value of that experiment. I'm not sure about its dielectric value, as heat shrink is my choice where that is a requirement.
I use a different brand, but its likely the same. Be warned, it doesn't last forever and will eventually set up in the can. Not sure if this helps any, but my experience is based on marine use where everything seems to get wet sooner or later. |
I have used it on occasion, it is messy to apply and hard to do a neat job if it is something visible, but it does work and I haven't had any failures related to it.

Available at Princess Auto....
Use occasionally .... sticks like hell..... and yes it is messy until it sets.....good for quick repairs or touch up on wiring.
If you find it started to set in the can some acetone will work quite well....shelf life of about a year...... very similar to the stuff used to dip/rubber coat pliers' handles......... Cheers |
