1 gallon can text
1 Attachment(s)
Anybody ever seen this text on a 1 gallon can ?
It says: MC4730 30HD engine |
I have not seen those markings, but may be able to help decipher some of it.
The MC prefix on MC4730 often refers to British artillery accessories. For instance,a can, lubricating on a Bofors is a CM2404. The 30HD engine likely refers to 30 weight motor oil. Perhaps the can is originally an issued item with some form of motorized artillery or for a generator associated with artillery? Anyway, that's my take on it. |
What about a recuperator oil?
|
30 HD is usually just engine oil , don`t know about recoupery oil .
|
CM prefixes are artillery related but this is MC which I've only come across on Nuffield produced items, though clearly not in this case.

According to the LV6MT1 Vocab, the British 1 gallon can was numbered MV930

Drinking water tanks and various stowage boxes in British cruiser tanks have MC prefixes. |
