I like to post the "I'll take it, PM sent" just to stake the territory. But some may not want everyone to know what they are purchasing.

On another forum I frequent, the etiquette is to handle the emails in the order they are received. But the first unconditional "I'll take it at the asking price", followed by EMT payment, has priority over a bargain hunter, heavy negotiator, or a tire kicker.

I actually lost a purchase one time because I spent a minute responding with "I'll take it, PM sent" and then sending the PM. Another friend of mine skipped the response and sent the private message instead....sure enough the 60 seconds difference went to his favour.

My 2¢ worth, with full disclosure that the penny is obsolete.
