Nov 11th Oshawa Convoy To Remembrance 2017
Good day,
I have received permission from an authority at the Museum to post this. This coming Saturday there will be a large movement of armour from Leopards down to Ferrets and some wheeled vehicles from the Ontario Regiment Museum to downtown Oshawa and then a roll past the the armoury from what I can tell after a service. All the vehicles will drive to the event and back with Police escorts. |
Is this roll past part of the Remeberance Day service in Oshawa, or a seperate service for the Ontario Regiment. I am asking because I will be in Oshawa this weekend and would like to attend the service on Saturday.
thanks, Perry |
Perry I cant exactly say as I dont know as of now.
I think there may be a service at some park, I know we we line the road around it in downtown, i think it may be called memorial park, but cant say for sure. The roll past is at the Ontario Regiment armoury in downtown. I am going down in the morning and will be driving on Saturday. I will try to post Friday night from the hotel if I can log in. Sorry I cant be more help |
Vehicles from the ONTR Museum will be convoying together to and from Oshawa's Remembrance Day parade, which they will be participating in. The parade begins (I believe around 1015h) at the ONTR Armories and ends at the Cenotaph downtown for the Remembrance day service and will resume after the service, proceeding back to the Armories.
Will be quite the sight... 30 military vehicles from the museum planned to be participating. |
I believe that there will be 3 packets of vehicles so that 1015 timing might be a bit late as the same Police escort does all 3.

Thanks for the information gentlemen. I now know where I need to be.

How was the view from your vantage point Perry?

Robin,
I was able to get my wifes family (all 11 of them) to attend the ceremony. We watched the parade about 1 1/2 blocks from the cenotaph, then found a spot for the ceremony itself in the park. Impressive parade. I always attend the service here in London, and can not ever remember vehicles being involved. Our group is actually standing around the lamp post in Richard's video. Perry |
